Family Fun, Magic & Community Connection in the Lockyer Valley

Whimsical Dr Ace is excited to be returning to Laidley for another wonderful community event celebrating Queensland Child Protection Week and supporting the message that Protecting Children is Everybody’s Business.

Hosted by the Laidley Community Centre / Our Valley Communities Inc, this special Under 5s Day brings families, parents, grandparents and carers together for a morning of fun, entertainment, community connection and access to valuable local services and information.

The event provides an enjoyable and welcoming environment for little ones while helping connect the adults who care for them with organisations and services available throughout Laidley and the Lockyer Valley.

Whimsical Dr Ace – Family Magic & Entertainment

This year, Dr Ace will be appearing as his colourful and family-friendly Whimsical Dr Ace, bringing interactive magic, comedy, imagination and plenty of audience participation to the day.

Dr Ace will present two family magic shows, created to entertain children and the grown-ups accompanying them.

The fun doesn’t finish when the show ends, either!

A Little Magic to Take Home

Following the show, Whimsical Dr Ace will also present a fun, beginner-friendly magic workshop, giving participants the opportunity to discover the secret behind a simple pocket magic trick and learn how it works.

Every child learns differently, and while some very young children may quickly understand and perform the trick, others may need a little extra help — and that’s all part of the experience.

Parents, grandparents and carers are encouraged to join in. If a younger child isn’t quite ready to master the trick themselves, their accompanying adult can learn it instead and become the magician!

They can then continue practising and teaching the trick together at home — or simply use their newfound magical powers to entertain their little magician-in-training.

The workshop is about participation, discovery and sharing a little bit of magic together, rather than guaranteeing that every participant will master the trick on the day.

Laidley Child Protection Week – More Than Just a Fun Day Out

While there will be plenty of smiles and entertainment, the heart of the day is much bigger.

Queensland Child Protection Week helps raise awareness of the importance of protecting children and supporting families, while community events such as this provide an opportunity for parents, carers and families to connect directly with organisations, information and support services within their community.

It’s a chance for the little ones to have some fun while the grown-ups discover more about the people and services available to support children and families.

Supporting Families During Child Protection Week

Dr Ace is delighted to once again support this Laidley community event and would like to acknowledge Laidley Community Centre, Our Valley Communities Inc, Kambu Health, Queensland Child Protection Week, Thriving Lockyer Kids, the Lockyer Valley community and the Laidley Spring Festival.

Community events like this are made possible when local organisations, services, families and entertainers come together with a shared purpose — creating positive experiences for children while strengthening awareness, connection and support throughout the community.
